Soul. Passion. Power. Singer/Songwriter CriStyle Renae embodies them all. The South Florida native's magnetic vocals are infused with a special soulfulness....and it comes naturally. R&B/Soul has been in her "DNA" for as long as she can remember. Her love of music spans back to childhood where she was largely influenced by legends like Donny Hathaway, Luther Vandross, Anita Baker and Isaac Hayes. CriStyle has honed her talent to become an artist who reflects the same love and warmth that her vocals resonate. Her debut single and video, Why Me, received rave reviews. Her forthcoming album, Signature Of Love, is brimming with heartfelt lyrics and melodies. She always hopes to evoke the same feelings she gets from her favorites like Rachelle Ferrell and Donny Hathaway. Fania Castro

Visual Artist

Fania Castro’s work is often described as a colorful explosion of sinuous shapes and figures alluding to fertility, femininity, and vitality. Born and raised in Bogota Colombia, Fania’s passion for design extends to all the spheres of her diverse creative outlets. After completing her degree in graphic design and master’s in architecture, she opened her own advertising and design studio, F5 Creative. Trough her years painting, Fania has developed a style that captures complex stories using intricate detailing that relies on a heavy symbolic background.
In 2010 she founded The Elastic Mind Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educate children trough art, science, and technology.

Eva Ruiz

Visual Artist (Picture Weaving Dreams)

Eva Ruiz was born in Bogota, Colombia, she spent her childhood in different cities and towns of her native country and moved to Miami at an early age.  Even though she loved drawing  as was a child, she decided to start her career in the arts in 2003.  Wanting to find a place where she could express herself completely, she found an infinite world of possibilities when she picked up the brush. She found a part of herself that was missing.  Eva is a self taught artist who loves to play and experiment with different mediums, porcelain, collage and jewelry. Gisele Magalhaes was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With a body of work that brings a surprisingly simple, delicate, essential view of life. Gisele believes that the true experience is to find beauty and contentment by accepting life for what is. “Once we shed the trivialities of daily life, and reduce some of the ‘modern noise’, we allow space for deeper connections with the world around us.” It is a subtle movement, and simplicity like this is often overlooked. Gisele hopes that her Photography can allow for one single moment of pause, and from this place of pure connection we can be reminded of our infinite potential.

Tyla Smith

Tyla Smith has been a creative soul since the day she was born. From finger painting, starting in her school plays, being the head make-up artist for her high school theater club, to eventually receiving her art degree from the Art Institute of Seattle in Graphic Design and Illustration, Tyla’s first love became the artistry of make-up. She continued her artistic education by taking specialized beauty, bridal, fashion, and special effects make-up classes across the country in cities like Seattle and New York. Whether on a film set or a fashion shoot, she has traveled the world and the world has been her design school. She has mastered combining her love for design, make-up, textures, colors, photography and composition in all of her projects. Maha Adachi Poetic Songtress

The Bohemia Room : 10 Year Anniversary Celebration
Maha Adachi, like many who found their voice in church, this acoustic soul visionary began writing poetry in a small Baptist church in Miami, FL. In time and with training, Maha Adachi Earth would inevitably cultivate her craft by transforming her words into spoken word and song. She has recently recorded a CD project entitled Mahagani and is on  a national promotional tour. When looking to the future, Maha has songwriting and comedic acting in her sights. She also recently added the title Voice Actor to her resume completing her first voice over project for Miami Subs delivery.  All in all, she hopes to reach global audiences with her distinct vocal sound, unapologetic lyrics, and commanding stage presence.

Nadyia Duff  Visual Artist

One of the pieces presented by Spoken Soul featured artist, Marie Whitman will be a cross-pollination of poetry and dance with artist Paola Escobar.  Paola is a Colombian dancer/choreographer is a graduate of New World School of the Arts where she earned her BFA.  Paola has performed internationally in Festivals in France, Spain, Colombia, Cuba, Brazil and Canada and she obtained the National Dance Award in Colombia for her work Flamenco 24 Hours. Marie Whitman is a performance poet, songstress, dance-maker and author of a book of verse entitled, “Signs and Wonders.”   Marie recently performed her original poetic work at the Miami Beach Cinematheque and was also featured in the show “Soule” at Miami Dade County Auditorium.

Nadyia Duff was born in 1989 in Jamaica. She moved to Miami, Florida at a young age and has lived there since. She was introduced to painting at home and in elementary school, but gained her passion for the arts in high school. After taking an introductory art class during high school she realized she had knack for painting. She attended the University of Florida where she majored Art Education with a concentration in painting. While attending the University of Florida she was able to dabble with other forms of media including drawing, photography, printmaking, digital media, and graphic design.  She observed the blending of different media to create a whole and fell in love with it.  She graduated cum laude in 2012 with a B.A. in Art Education and is currently teaching art to second, third, fourth, and fifth graders in the Miami Dade County Public School system.

Miss Omilani  was called by The "Source" magazine "precocious figure on the spoken word scene," audiences compare her to Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Macy Gray, Duffy, and Lauryn Hill This young Afro-Filipina singer-songwriter has bought many to tears during dramatic presentations and has stirred crowds into a roaring mass as she rocked one of her original songs. Miss Omilani has certainly proven she can hold center stage.
Performing since the age of seven, Omilani has been featured in many programs. She is most noted for performing her original words of storytelling, poetry, and hip hop. Her eclectic vibe has become a very popular with all age groups.
Her love of languages has blossomed into a presentation that now bridges language and cultural boundaries. Mixing Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic and Yoruba into her music and poetry has added a unique twist to her show.

Jessica Concepcion
Jessica Concepcion is a Miami native, born in 1974.  She has worked as a professional artist for over 15 years. Her compositions are an exploration in narrative imagery, brilliantly captured by vivid and diverse colors to evoke emotion and connection. Inspired by her own photography, Concepcion transfers real images into vividly painted photo-scapes, encouraging personal transference both in the physical making of the piece and the actual viewing of the piece itself. DJ Nancy Starr

DJ Nancy Starr, born in Bristol, PA., has been rockin’ the decks since early childhood. Raised by Cuban relatives, in Miami, she was exposed to a variety of music, ranging from the timeless Latin classics of the 50’s, to those of the 80’s & 90’s. Soon after entering college, Nancy’s involvement with the college radio station, led to her first specialty radio show. It was this experience, which led to Starr’s love of electronic dance music.
Having spent years fine-tuning her musical formula, Nancy Starr has evolved into a global DJ; feeling the vibe at prestigious venues, dispensing musical epiphanies wherever she plays. Starr’s musical style reflects her eclectic influences, for a sound that is truly magical and limitless.
